The African leaders hold a meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi.

The former rivals re-established diplomatic relations earlier in July.

Eritrea and Ethiopia had previously signed a declaration of peace and friendship

The thaw was welcomed across the world from the United Nations to the UAE.

Years of conflict seemed to be at an end when Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, welcomed the leaders of two formerly warring states at the Presidential Palace.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki were honoured with the Order of Zayed when the meeting happened on Tuesday.
