ITALY // Lambretta, the famed Italian scooter manufacturer, will return to motorcycle racing after more than 57 years.
According to Autosport.com, the Lambretta Reparto Corse motorsport team will field two new motorcycles in the 125cc world championship this year. Italian Marco Ravaioli and Spaniard Luis Salom are signed as riders.
"We're delighted to be back on the racetrack and to compete in such an exciting sport. It'll be fun to compete with the big boys and see what happens," Lambretta marketing director John Scully told the website.
The rules of the road keeping cyclists safe
Cyclists must wear a helmet, arm and knee pads
Have a white front-light and a back red-light on their bike
They must place a number plate with reflective light to the back of the bike to alert road-users
Avoid carrying weights that could cause the bike to lose balance
They must cycle on designated lanes and areas and ride safe on pavements to avoid bumping into pedestrians
