DUBAI // A labourer was sentenced on Thursday to three months in jail for molesting a 13-year-old girl.
Pakistani M D, 36, denied a charge of sexual assault when he appeared at Dubai Criminal Court last December, saying: “I did not touch her, she is framing me.”
However, the court ruled that he had touched her behind at about 3.30pm on July 18 last year as the girl and her mother shopped at Dragonmart.
The mother told the court: “She [her daughter] came and told me that a man photographed her on his mobile and touched her bottom.”
She added that the defendant had been chasing her daughter around the mall before he touched her. “I only knew what happened when I noticed that my daughter wanted to leave the mall so bad, so I insisted that she tell me why,” added the mother, who immediately called police.
“He touched me twice on my bottom,” said the girl.
Police arrived and checked his phone, where they found 89 images of different women and girls.
He will be deported after completing his jail term.
