DUBAI// A labourer followed a 13-year-old girl around the Dragon Mart mall before molesting her, the Criminal Court has heard.
The Pakistani defendant, M D, 36, denied the charges on Monday. “I did not touch her, she is framing me,” he said.
Prosecutors said that on July 18 the teenager was shopping at the mall with her mother.
“She came and told me that a man had photographed her on his mobile and touched her bottom,” said the mother.
She added that the defendant had been following her daughter around the mall before he groped her.
“I only knew what happened when I noticed that my daughter wanted to leave the mall really badly, so I insisted that she told me why.”
When police apprehended M D they found 89 images of different women and girls on his phone.
A verdict is expected on January 29.
