BEIRUT // A US$10 million in funding from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation will help to reopen a hospital in Lebanon.
The Al Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association will now operate and manage the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital in the town of Shebaa.
The funding is spread over a 10-year period and will result in the hospital reopening in September after eight years of forced closures.
The hospital is part of the ongoing UAE support for reconstruction in Lebanon and is set to offer services to more than 35,000 people.
