DUBAI // A janitor has ben jailed for five years for raping his roommate.
Pakistani M G, 31, told a court in May last year that he could not remember attacking Nepali roommate G T, 22, on January 2, and denied raping him.
G T told police that he was sitting when the defendant grabbed him from behind.
He described how he was raped for 15 minutes. Afterwards, he went to building security, who called police.
A forensic report showed there were signs of sexual intercourse on the victim, and DNA samples taken from G T’s body matched that of the defendant.
M G denied the rape charge and told the judge he was drunk at the time and could not remember.
He was sentenced to five years in jail to be followed by deportation.
