ABU DHABI // A Bangladeshi man who used a fake passport to get into the country illegally has been sentenced to three months jail and deportation by the Federal Supreme Court.
Mueen Al Deen Mohammed, 29, was convicted of using two forged documents — a passport and a residency document — under the fake name of Anowar Hossain to enter the UAE through Sharjah Airport.
He was also convicted of providing fake details to an airport employee and impersonating the man named in the documents to avoid criminalisation under the immigration laws.
The defendant pleaded guilty in court and requested mercy.
