More than Dh1 million has been given to the extended families of 2,100 Palestinian orphans by the Islamic Charitable Society.
The money was handed over by Hatem El Bakri, president of the Islamic Charitable Society, to Marwan Abu Sultan, representative of Al Khalil province.
A number of families and other officials attended the donation ceremony.
Mr Abu Sultan expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE's Human Appeal International "for its efforts to serve and help vulnerable groups in Al Khalil province and all Palestinian governorates", Wam, the state news agency, reported.
The orphans aid project provides 20,000 families US$10 million (Dh36.7m) annually, said Ibrahim Al Rashid, director of the group's West Bank office.
