Hundreds of calls to Abu Dhabi police following murder
ABU DHABI // More than 400 people have contacted Abu Dhabi Police to offer information related to the murder of American teacher Ibolya Ryan in a toilet at Boutik Mall on Reem Island last Monday.
Brig Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, head of the security information department and general supervisor of the Aman (security) operator service at Abu Dhabi Police, praised the sense of community and responsibility displayed by members of the public who have contacted officers to provide information about the case.
He said police had received about 400 calls, with more still coming. He said regardless of how important some of the information was in helping with the investigation, the police see the calls as very useful considering that they reflect the cohesion and cooperation of people, and the trust they have towards their security and police departments. They also show their keenness on serving justice and noble human sympathy towards the victim, Brig Al Dhaheri said.
He urged the public to continue reporting any activity that rouses their suspicion.
