How to avoid the traffic to get to the Qasr Al Hosn show

Visitors urged to take advice to get to fort quickly and safely.

People driving to the ongoing celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the Qasr Al Hosn fort have been warned there is no parking onsite.

However, authorities in Abu Dhabi, who expect thousands of visitors, say that alternative transport options have been provided for those wishing to attend.

There will be free car parking at the Central Market, which is a five-minute walk to the fort, available from 9.30am to 1am.

Visitors are being advised that ,if they are coming from the south, to follow Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street/Old Airport Road to Hamdan Bin Mohammed Street, and follow the signs to the secure underground parking.

Those arriving from the east or west should leave the Corniche at Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street/ Old Airport Road and follow the signs to the secure underground parking.

The car park is signposted from Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street/ Old Airport Road.

A park and ride service is in place from car parks at Al Manhal Palace directly to the festival location about 10 minutes away.

People who have reserved tickets for the mutli-media "Story of a Fort, Legacy of Nation" show - which melds state-of-the-art technology with Emirati dance and music - will be able to park at Khaled Bin Al Waleed Street opposite the TVC building. It will be closed to all other traffic.
