Al Ain Zoo attracted 35,000 visitors during the Eid Al Fitr holiday, from Friday to Sunday.
Despite many visitors from across the emirates and from Oman going to to the zoo, the figure was less than normal for a holiday period, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic sister paper of The National.
Hussain Al Amiri, sales representative at Al Ain Zoo, said that the numbers were relatively fewer than those usually recorded, especially during Eid Al Adha which takes place later in the year.
He added the high temperatures affected the number of visitors in the first day of Eid, but there was an increase in the second and third days. He noted that the high temperatures affect Al Ain Zoo more than other attractions in the city.
