UAE to step up polio campaign

More than 17 million children in Pakistan will be targeted in the second phase of a UAE-funded programme to eradicate polio.

About 51 million doses will be administered by the UAE Pakistan Assistance Programme, launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

Last week, Bill Gates, in his annual letter, said that Abu Dhabi had been a “real partner” in the fight against the disease.
