UAE Cabinet reviews early cancer detection programme

ABU DHABI // The UAE Cabinet has reviewed a programme to encourage Emiratis to go for tests to detect cancer in its early stages.

“We aim to detect and catch the disease in its early stages,” said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

The cabinet has also reviewed an initiative to attract young people to take up a career in nursing.

The Cabinet has also endorsed the launch of the Industrial Coordination Council to boost the industrial sector in the country.

Sheikh Mohammed said the industrial sector “plays an indispensable role in development” and was “a cornerstone of the UAE’s economy.

He hoped the initiative would “push the sector to compete regionally and internationally”.
