ABU DHABI // Healthcare centres will be built at border points across the UAE to fight the spread of disease.
According to Al Ittihad, The National's Arabic language sister publication, the centres, will provide voluntary tests and free health care for those affected by communicable diseases.
They will perform necessary tests, quarantine when required and collect samples for lab analysis.
The diseases being monitored include tuberculosis, flu, pneumonic plague, measles, whooping cough, salmonellosis, typhoid and scabies.
The regulations also extend to any animal suspected of being affected by a communicable disease, which should be reported by its owner to the competent veterinary authority immediately.
