RAS AL KHAIMAH // Ras Al Khaimah Municipality has confiscated bottles of water sold under a fake brand name.
The desalination plant that produced the bottled water was fined as part of measures to step up inspection campaigns at desalination plants across the emirate, reported Aletihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.
The inspections are aimed at ensuring that water production complies with health and safety requirements, said Munzer Al Zaabi, director general of RAK Municipality.
Other desalination plants were fined for selling water unfit for consumption after testing was conducted at the municipality’s food control laboratory.
