Muslim physicians are being urged to join hands to end polio.

The Federation of Islamic Medical Associations’ call to action on polio eradication and children’s health, which is being signed by Muslim physicians from around the world, will outline steps that leaders and stakeholders in the Muslim world need to take to eradicate the disease.

Dr Jamil Itani, a paediatrician and medical director at ProVita International Medical Centre in Abu Dhabi, said “it is our duty to take care of our children, educate families on the importance and safety of vaccines”.
