Kalba girl sent to France for heart transplant

Under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Hamda Ibrahim, 15, from Kalba City was flown to France to receive treatment heart problems.

The girl was transported from Al Qasimi Hospital to Sharjah International Airport on Tuesday, where she was airlifted to France in a Royal Jet along with her parents and a medical crew from St George Hospital in Paris.

Dr Arif Al Nooryani, chief executive and head of the cardiology department at Al Qasimi Hospital, said that the case was referred from Kalba about a week ago.

The girl’s cardiac muscle was extremely weak, possibly due to a viral infection.

Upon her arrival at Al Qasimi, she suffered from sudden cardiac arrest that required immediate CPR.

The girl was placed in intensive care before flying to Paris for a heart transplant.
