Increased ambulances on roads for Eid holidays

ABU DHABI // Additional ambulances will be on the roads with extra staff working during the Eid holiday in the Northern Emirates.

National Ambulance said it will take the measures during the holiday next week to ensure public safety.

Ahmed Al Hajeri, deputy chief executive of National Ambulance, said holiday periods see a spike in calls to their hotline.

Figures collected by National Ambulance during Eid Al Fitr this year showed that more than 920 calls were made to the call centre during the week-long holiday.

“We collect data from our own operations and information received from police and civil defence, which allows us to efficiently manage our resources and implement operational plans focusing on where we can most effectively serve the community,” said Mr Al Hajeri.

He urged the public to be careful on the roads, beaches and public places and call 998 if an emergency requires an ambulance.
