Electronic tube system to transport medicines to hospitals introduced in UAE

An new drug transport system will be introduced in new hospitals, a Ministry of Public Works official has said.

DUBAI // The Ministry of Public Works has introduced an electronic system for patients’ drugs in new hospitals, a conference heard.

The pneumatic tube system transports medicines from main pharmacies to various hospital departments, said Zahra Al Aboudi, undersecretary for the ministry, speaking on the sidelines of the Hospital Design and Infrastructure conference in Dubai, which began on Monday.

She said it would be implemented in all new hospitals that the ministry is constructing, according to Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.

Ms Al Aboudi said the ministry is working towards implementing innovation in its various scheduled projects, include those in the health sector.
