Coronavirus: UAE reports 2,113 cases and six deaths on record day of testing

The UAE recorded 2,113 Covid-19 cases on the biggest day of testing to date.

These latest infections brought the overall tally to 470,136.

A further 2,279 people recovered from the coronavirus,  it was reported on Sunday, taking the total number of recoveries to 454,600.

The number of active cases fell to 14,026, as recoveries exceeded new infections for the 22nd day in a row.

Six Covid-19 patients died, raising the death toll to 1,510.

An additional 260,445 tests were conducted during the 24-hour reporting period.

This surpassed the previous high of 252,243 recorded on Saturday.

More than 38.5 million tests have been carried out nationwide.

Mass screening of the public and widespread vaccination remain central to the country's fight against Covid-19.
