The UAE recorded 271 new coronavirus cases on Monday, taking the number of infections to 57,193.

Officials announced a further 352 patients had beaten the virus as the recovery tally moved to 49,621.

One patient died after contracting Covid-19 as the death toll rose to 340.

The Emirates conducted 27,000 additional tests on Monday, and for the sixth day straight, the number of infections remained below 300.

More than 4.5 million tests have been carried out in the country since the outbreak began, as part of a mass screening strategy to identify cases early and limit the spread of the virus.
