Six hospitals, a medical rehabilitation facility, a dialysis centre, four ambulatory clinics, a special-needs centre and a disease prevention and screening facility were approved by the Executive Council.

Corniche Hospital and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, both Seha hospitals, will be among those benefiting from the ambitious plans, with the former due to be replaced by a dedicated Women's Health Hospital.

The newbuilds will take place across the entire emirate.
