The Night Of Qadr (Decree) is the greatest night of the year. This is the night about which the almighty Allah said: "The night of Al-Qadr is better than a thousand months." The Night of Decree is on one of the odd-numbered nights of the last 10 nights of the blessed month of Ramadan. The angels descend to the Earth, and the Earth is overwhelmed with peace and serenity until the break of dawn. When the doors of Paradise are opened, the worshipper is encouraged to turn to Allah to ask for his needs for this world and the hereafter.
Scholars hold different opinions as to the exact timing of Qadr. Some believe it is the 21st, some say the 23rd, others say the 25th and still others say the 29th. Some say it varies from year to year but it is always among the last 10 nights of Ramadan. Most scholars, though, vouch for the 27th.
