Improving public sector employees’ skills was highlighted at Sunday’s Cabinet meeting.
Upgrading “is a priority of the Government because it is the cornerstone for success of the Government excellence process”, said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
Also discussed was the launch of the Platform for Government Policies, an app to help policymakers who shape federal legislation to exchange experiences and knowledge.
“By launching the Government policy platform, we strive to empower our employees with all mechanisms and tools that help stimulate their efforts, develop their skills and qualify them. Our employees are the makers of our success, and are the strategic partners in moving the engine of development and progress forward,” Sheikh Mohammed said.
A draft programme on preventive measures needed to ensure public health and fight epidemic diseases was also discussed, as were a number of recommendations made by the Federal National Council regarding the Ministry of Labour.
The Cabinet also approved the establishment of a countrywide medical stock to respond quickly to any emergency.
Present at the meeting were Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
