Seven joint committees to enhance collaboration between the UAE and Saudi Arabia were launched on Monday during a meeting between representatives from each country.

The Executive Committee of the UAE-Saudi Coordination Council met in Riyadh to review and discuss joint projects related to tourism, politics, environment and housing, industry, investments and security.

The committee, chaired by Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, and Mohammed Al Tuwaijri, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Economy and Planning, aims to promote partnership opportunities between

the two countries within the council.

On Monday, the committee discussed a number of joint initiatives within 26 development fields, reported state news agency Wam.

"The UAE-Saudi Coordination council sets a role model for integration thanks to the unlimited support of the two countries’ leadership and their tireless efforts to unleash synergy for the best interests of our people," said Mr Al Gergawi.

"The package of projects and initiatives reviewed by the Council’s Executive committee corroborates the fertile ground for co-operation between the two sisterly nations to launch new projects and complete the programmes launched over the past period. We are looking forward to tapping fresh vistas of collaboration across new sectors, including health and space, among others,” he said.
