A new list of official public holidays has been released by the UAE's Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.

The list showing eight sets of holidays was shared by the Authority's on Twitter, saying the dates had been updated according to a Cabinet resolution issued this year.

It is unclear if the holidays apply to public and private sector workers, though the Authority typically announces holidays for government staff. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation generally announce holidays for private sector workers.

This year, the UAE Cabinet announced that the private sector would have the same amount of holiday as the public sector.

The decree unified holidays for public and private sectors to have 14 days off in 2019 and 2020. The standardisation was part of a drive to attract Emiratis to the private sector.
