UAE nationals warned to avoid Baltimore violence

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has warned the UAE nationals in Maryland State and specially in Baltimore city to be cautious and avoid areas of violence.

ABU DHABI // UAE nationals in Maryland and specifically Baltimore have been warned to avoid areas of violence and take caution.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the warning on its Twitter page, and also told Emiratis to follow instructions of the UAE Embassy in Washington, contacting it on the number [phone] for urgent matters.

The outbreak of violence followed the funeral on Monday for Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old man who died after sustaining a spinal cord injury while in police custody in Baltimore. Cars were set on fire, stores were destroyed and six officers were seriously injured.
