ABU DHABI // Emiratis were warned on Tuesday against travelling to Turkey by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The warning advised citizens to avoid flying to the country until further notice after Istanbul and Ankara were hit by a series of terrorist bombings in recent months.

Thirty-nine people were killed in an attack on an upmarket nightclub in Istanbul on New Year’s Eve.

ISIL claimed responsibility for the attack on the Reina nightclub, in which several people were also wounded.

Many of the victims were visitors from the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Turkish media has just released a "selfie video" of a man they say is the gunman. He was filming himself in Taksim Square, although it was unclear whether the video was taken before or after the attack.
