Three tonnes of waste collected in Yas Island clean-up campaign

Abu Dhabi City Municipality has collected more than three tonnes of waste from residential areas and beaches on Yas Island.

ABU DHABI // Three tonnes of waste have been removed from beaches and residential areas on Yas Island as part of a city campaign.

Abu Dhabi City Municipality carried out the Yas Beach Clean-up Campaign with the Abu Dhabi Centre for Waste Management, Tadweer, reported the state news agency, Wam.

Municipal employees from Al Shahama and neighbouring areas, as well as residents and beachgoers, collected the waste, which was dumped by Tadweer at landfill sites.

The municipality said the campaign reflects its commitment to keeping the environment and beaches clean, as well as maintaining the city’s appearance.
