Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, wished French President Emmanuel Macron a speedy recovery after he tested positive for the coronavirus.
The French president tested positive on Thursday.
“Our best wishes go out to our friend, French President Emmanuel Macron,” tweeted Sheikh Mohamed, also the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
"We hope for his speedy recovery, and pray for the health and well-being of the people of France."
Mr Macron will be in isolation for the next week but will continue working remotely from the Elysee Palace, the presidency said.
His scheduled trips, including a visit to Lebanon next week, have been cancelled.
