The President, Sheikh Khalifa, last night ordered absentee prayers for UAE martyrs whose bodies have not been found, to be held after Friday prayers.

Emirates National Schools on Wednesday said the children of the heroes would be exempt from tuition fees, from KG1 to Grade 12.

The decision was made by the three private schools’ board of directors under the directives of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

It takes effect this academic year at the company’s three campuses in Mohammed bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Also on Wendesday, Abu Dhabi Media spelt out its awareness campaign on the dangers of posting national security information on social media.

Protect Our Soldiers scored more than 60 million views within 24 hours of its launch.

“The civilian community is the nation’s defence line and our campaign is part of our role in spreading awareness in the community on the safe use of those digital lines to safeguard the nation and its people,” said Hend Al Otaiba, director of strategic communications at ADM.

Meanwhile, the Emirates Red Crescent launched its UAE Martyrs Initiative on Wednesday in honour of the 45 Emiratis killed in Yemen, by opening a refugee camp in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan.
