Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed, Chairman of the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Executive Council Member hosted an iftar reception for at the Al Bateen Palace in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, with aid organisations and government officials among the guests. UAE Red Crescent board members, higher management, staff, donors and partners from local and international organisations attended the reception. Among were guests were Dr Mohamed Ateeq Al Falahi, Secretary General UAE Red Crescent, Dr Hamdan Musalam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent; Yusuff Ali, managing director, Emke Group and Dr Shamsheer Vayalil Parampath, founder and managing director of Burjeel Hospital. Dr Mohamed Matar Salem bin Abid Al Kaabi, chairman of the UAE General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments; Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State for Tolerance and Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President also attended. A panel discussion, called “The Manipulation of Religious texts by Extremists”, also took place at Majlis Mohamed bin Zayed.
