Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed met Jacinda Ardern, the prime minister of New Zealand, during his visit to the country.

During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation and Ms Ardern  discussed developing friendly relations and cooperation between the UAE and New Zealand in all fields, especially investment, trade, economic, energy, renewable energy and food security.

After, Sheikh Abdullah visited the Amesbury School in Wellington where he was greeted by pupils performing the Haka.

The UAE delegation toured the school, which opened in 2012 and inspected the open-plan classrooms enhanced by natural landscapes to support and inspire learning.

Sheikh Abdullah also visited Zealandia, the world’s first fully-fenced urban ecosanctuary.

The ecosanctuary has a 500-year vision to restore Wellington valley’s forest and freshwater ecosystems as closely as possible to their pre-human state.
