Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed attends meeting on Syrian crisis

The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 71st session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, heard the views of members of the Syrian opposition delegation on how to resolve the crisis.

ABU DHABI // Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has taken part in a high-level meeting on Monday to discuss the future of Syria.

The meeting was attended by officials from Qatar, France, Germany, the UK, the US and Turkey, as well as Riyad Hijab, president of the Supreme Commission for Negotiations representing the Syrian opposition.

The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 71st session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, heard the views of members of the Syrian opposition delegation on how to resolve the crisis.

Also in attendance were Dr Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of State, Faris Al Mazrouei, Assistant Foreign Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Minister for Security and Military Affairs, Lana Nusseibeh, Permanent Representative of the UAE to the UN, and Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the US.
