More than 1,000 plots of land in Ajman have been allocated for projects under the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme (SZHP) and the Committee of the UAE’s President Initiatives.
The 1,100 plots were ordered by the emirate’s Ruler, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the state news agency Wam reported. They are in the emirate’s Helio district.
Sheikh Humaid asked the emirate’s municipality and planning department to speed up procedures regarding the surveyance of the plots, which have been set aside for citizens.
During his visit to the municipality, Sheikh Humaid was briefed on the emirate’s urban achievements in terms of infrastructure projects, including roads. He was also briefed about the emirate’s urban plan, prepared by the Engineering Affairs’ section at the department.
By November last year, SZHP had provided Dh18.19 billion in assistance to Emiratis since it was formed in 1999.
Dr Abdullah Al Nuaimi, minister of public works and chairman of SZHP’s board of directors, said the programme had cut waiting times for housing support to less than two years.
Also last year, the emirate was one of several, including Umm Al Qaiwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, to be allocated housing complexes by SZHP.
Each plot, of which there will be two in RAK, will have about 400 houses built on it.
