Powers of Executive Council issued

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council has issued a resolution pertaining to the powers of the Council’s Executive Committee.

Sheikh Mohammed also issued four resolutions on the formation of sub-committees reporting to the Executive Council.

According to the first resolution, the Executive Committee is mandated to review draft legislation, projects and resolutions before these are submitted to the Executive Council, as well as to decide on issues falling within its powers.

The Economic Development Committee’s scope of work covers business climate, industry, energy, financial affairs and other sectors like financial services, media, wholesale and retail trade, construction, properties, statistics and other relevant areas.

The Social Development Committee was also formed to oversee education, health care, Emiratisation, social care, housing, civil service affairs, culture, heritage, sports, pension and Islamic affairs.

The fourth resolution provides for formation of the security, justice and safety committee.
