A team from Khalifa Foundation has joined with the UAE Embassy in Beirut to carry out the fifth phase of its winter programme as part of the UAE Compassion campaign Tarahamu.
The aim is to provide assistance to refugees and victims in Lebanon from snowstorm Huda, which swept through the Levant and Iraq, the state news agency Wam reported on Sunday.
It was implemented under the directives of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, along with the follow-up of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, according to the Khalifa Foundation.
The source told Wam that the foundation’s winter programme in Lebanon has targeted 20,000 families comprising 100,000 individuals. So far, the team has carried out five phases of the campaign, benefiting about 20,000 people.
