Emirati honoured for saved girl from drowning in RAK

ABU DHABI // An Emirati has been awarded a medal recognising his courage in saving a girl from drowning off Ras Al Khaimah.

Saeed Al Muhair was awarded the First Class Rescue Medal by Lt Gen Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy prime minister and Minister of the Interior on Sunday, at the ministry headquarters, according to the state news agency Wam.

Sheikh Saif praised the bravery and dedication of Mr Al Muhair in rescuing the girl who was swept away from the shore by strong waves and suffered extreme fatigue.

“This noble act of chivalry reflects the nobility of the UAE people and their dedication to extend a helping hand to anyone who needs it,” he said, calling for the young people of the UAE to emulate this spirit.
