Dubai Police call centre gets 431 calls in 2014

The General Anti-narcotics Administration at Dubai Police received 431 calls in 2014, varying from suspicions to requests for legal, social and psychological advice and help.

Col Eid Thani, head of the administration, said that the increase in calls was due to the trust of callers and to the satisfactory responses they receive from officers on call. Each caller is assigned an expert who will follow-up the next day, thus boosting the community’s trust.

The toll-free number 800 400 400 was launched in 2010. Officers are on call 24 hours, seven days a week, and calls are recorded and saved for future reference and necessary analysis.

Col Thani assured the public that incoming calls are strictly confidential.
