DUBAI // The Crown Prince of Dubai launched a comprehensive guide for government policies focuses on enhancing happiness and the welfare of individuals and society.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, issued the ‘Government Policies Guide’ on Friday which is designed to aid Dubai’s government entities in developing and implementing new policies and assessing their effect, reported Wam, the state news agency.
“Enhancing happiness is the government’s main role, and we want Dubai Government to come up with plans to ensure happiness in society through innovative policies, services and programmes,” said Sheikh Hamdan.
The guide consists of seven steps to be followed by government entities which included defining the need for the policy and developing a policy framework; developing and analysing the policy based on facts and figures; creating a theory of policy change; defining and assessing policy options; designing the policy and developing an execution plan; monitoring, evaluating and reviewing the policy; and ensuring the participation of relevant people.
“The true test of the effectiveness of policies is in the effect it has on people’s lives, currently or in the future,” the Crown Prince said.
