ABU DHABI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has introduced his new twin grandchildren to the world.
A photograph of him tenderly holding the newborns was posted on Instagram, attracting more than 16,000 likes and 600 comments by Monday afternoon.
The picture went online on Sunday on Sheikh Mohammed’s account, MBZPhotos. It shows him sitting on a couch and smiling broadly as he holds each of his two newborn grandchildren.
One of the babies, wrapped in a pink blanket, is sleeping peacefully, while the other, wrapped in blue, has open eyes.
The caption reads: “December 2013: Mohammed bin Zayed embraces his two grandchildren, Mohammed and Salama, children of Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed.”
“So cute,” wrote one Instagram user, manalsawan.
Hundreds of others shared messages of blessings and congratulations.
“May they be good offspring and may the joy of God be with you for ever,” wrote sarasmb.
“Congratulations! One hundred million congratulations! God made them good offspring. May they be good to their parents,” posted beeboo12344.
Sheikh Mohammed has more than 87,000 followers on his Instagram account, where he has posted 650 photos giving the public photographic glimpses of his daily life.
