Move aside horses, there's a new patrol in town.
Abu Dhabi Police has launched its very on camel patrol — named Hajana — in a bid to embrace Emirati heritage while also increasing security and safety in the emirate.
Criminals will now have no where to hide with patrols roaming the city and the desert.
Maj Gen Mohammed Al Romaithi, chief of Abu Dhabi Police, said the initiative was part of a drive to increase local pride in Emirati culture as well as to reduce crime.
"Police have been trained to work with the camels in accordance with best practices to carry out their civic duty and prevent crime," he said.
