ABU DHABI // One of Abu Dhabi’s oldest parks has reopened after renovations.

New recreational and sport facilities as well as green space were added to Al Khatam Park, which was first built in 1987, the municipality said.

The park now has several fountains, relaxation areas and children’s playgrounds within its 5.7 square hectares.

The park was upgraded to serve the needs and aspirations of the community, said Musabbah Al Murar, acting general manager of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, during an event to mark the park’s opening.

Diversification of parks and recreational facilities to meet the city’s growth is part of the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 plan.
