Abu Dhabi Police call on tent owners to have extinguishers

Tent owners will be asked to ensure the safety of electrical fittings, connections and wiring.

Abu Dhabi Police reiterated its call to tent owners, stressing the necessity to have extinguishers inside and to train people to use them. Safe fire exits should be designated to ensure safety.

The call will be broadcast over the radio on Monday by Lt Col Mohammed Al Ameri, head of the Emergency and Public Safety Department, as part of the Security Flashes campaign organised by the Ministry of Interior.

Tent owners will be asked to ensure the safety of electrical fittings, connections and wiring.

Lt Col Al Ameri will warn against the use of electrical connections that are non-compliant with standards applied in tents. Using them will endanger tent users and visitors in the event of a short circuit or any other electrical fault.

Libya's Gold

UN Panel of Experts found regime secretly sold a fifth of the country's gold reserves. 

The panel’s 2017 report followed a trail to West Africa where large sums of cash and gold were hidden by Abdullah Al Senussi, Qaddafi’s former intelligence chief, in 2011.

Cases filled with cash that was said to amount to $560m in 100 dollar notes, that was kept by a group of Libyans in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

A second stash was said to have been held in Accra, Ghana, inside boxes at the local offices of an international human rights organisation based in France.
