Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on Monday received Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, at Al Bahr Palace.
The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince welcomed Guterres and congratulated him on becoming Secretary-General. He also affirmed the UAE’s support to the United Nations, state news agency Wam reported.
Sheikh Mohammed and Mr Guterres discussed a number of topics, as well as regional developments and the UN’s efforts to bring about regional and global security, peace and stability.
Mr Guterres also met Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice-President and Ruler of Dubai. The leaders discussed peace, terrorism and war.
Sheikh Mohammed and Mr Guterres discussed international efforts to end violence in Syria, Yemen, Libya and Iraq.
