SHARJAH // Eighty-six workers in violation of the immigration laws were apprehended in the industrial area.
Sharjah police referred the workers to the appropriate authorities and confiscated 68 illegal motorbikes during the campaign aimed at making sure that foreign workers are legal residents in the emirate.
The campaign in Al Sajaa industrial area of Sharjah, was launched in coordination with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.
Lieutenant colonel Abdulrazaq Asad, head of Al Sajaa police station, urged companies to abide and work closely with the authorities to make sure their employees are working legally.
“Illegal residents, and those who ran away from their sponsors, should not be given jobs. The campaign will continue until all illegal workers are removed,” he added.
