FUJAIRAH // Fifty-three prisoners have been released by the Fujairah Ruler, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, to mark Ramadan.

He ordered the release of the prisoners from various countries because they had shown good conduct while serving their jail terms.

The initiative hopes to bring joy to the inmates’ families during the Holy Month and offer the prisoners an opportunity to start a new life.

Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, appreciated the gesture of Sheikh Hamad, and hoped that his clemency would be a motivation for those released to start down a new and righteous path.
