ABU DHABI // A genetic map for the GCC countries is expected to be completed by the end of 2015, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister publication of The National.
Dr Najib Al Khaja, secretary general of the Hamdan bin Rashid Award for Medical Sciences and president of the Arab Centre for Genetic Studies, said hereditary diseases in the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman have already been mapped, with Saudi Arabia authorities assisting in trying to complete the map.
