Understanding the Quran is possible only with proper thought, worshippers will be told on Friday.
People attend more lessons during Ramadan to learn about their religion, “and Allah has ordered religious obligations so people’s minds will be enlightened, and their thoughts straightened”, says Friday’s sermon.
“The brain is one of the greatest divine blessings; with it the human reached beneficial knowledge, building a good life and high accomplishments.”
The Quran refers to the brain as a method to understand religion and its legislations, as the verse says: “We have sent down the Quran in Arabic so that you may understand.”
The Arabic word used in the verse “ta’qiloon” to refer to understanding is derived from the Arabic word for brain, “aqel”.
As a verse that describes the Muslim community says: “Thus We have appointed you a middle nation.”
“And Prophet Mohammed peace be upon him has warned us against all types of hyperbole, and he called us to follow convenience and leniency,” the sermon continues.
And part of moderate thought is finding solutions for settlement, security and peace and protecting nations from seditions and risks.
“And our Creator has ordered us to thank Him for the blessing of stability,” the sermon says, while citing the Quranic verses that say: “So let them worship the Lord of this House, who provided them with food lest they go hungry and saved them from fear.”
