Worshippers who commit to praying have been promised inner peace in their lives, and paradise in the hereafter.
Friday’s sermon focuses on the great status of prayer and points to its references in the Quran, throughout the history of the prophets, highlighting its importance.
The Quran quotes prophet Ibrahim saying: “My Lord! Make me to establish proper worship, and some of my posterity (also); our Lord! and accept my prayer.”
In another verse Allah says: “And We inspired Moses and his brother, (saying): Appoint houses for your people in Egypt and make your houses oratories, and establish worship. And give good news to the believers.”
Praying is one of the pillars of Islam and it offers security and refuge for the distressed and troubled.
“It is submission and reverence [...] and humility to Allah,” says the sermon.
Prophet Mohammed said when one prays he or she is conversing with the lord.
“Prayer is the reason for every good in life and the hereafter,” continues the sermon.
“It is they key for acceptance of acts (of worship), and a reason for excelling in good deeds.”
True prayer prevents a person from committing great sins, “Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do”, the Quran says.
